Business Insider followed the eSports scene for a documentary called "League of Millions" that was actually shown in theaters. I think they'd seen a Playboy cover story I wrote and interviewed me at length for their film.
I wrote the introduction to the first Game Awards that were not associated with Spike TV. It was an important moment since the opening would set the tone for all Awards that night and in the future. Geoff Keighley was an amazing editor and I'd do it again in a moment.
Indie director Lech Kowalski hired me to write a screenplay based on a cover story I wrote for the Village Voice about a multicultural group of young spoken word poets. I also helped him with Chico and the People, a documentary about jazz great Chico Freeman which took place in Tompkins Square Park. I'm still waiting to be paid.
My first effort as a screenwriter and producer was with Robot in the Family, starring Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley, Joe Pantoliano an John-Rhys Davies. It was a terrible movie but I learned a lot. So did everyone else.
